Hunting and Shooting; within Sun Ranch
Based on member concerns, in the interest for the safety of Sun Ranch members and guests, the Board of Directors has established the following regulations concerning hunting and shooting within Sun Ranch:
-
No hunting or discharge of firearms within or into Sun Ranch–designated common areas and road easements are permitted.
-
As more owners are using their properties for full-time living and part-time recreation, the danger of being struck by stray bullets has increased. Therefore, no discharge of firearms is permitted across any Sun Ranch owner’s property line.
-
Hunting guests must be advised and be aware of regulations 1 and 2.
-
A member (voting or associate) owning a particular lot or lots must be present when their guest(s) are hunting on the lot owner's property.
-
It is the responsibility of Sun Ranch property owners to notify the Board about guest hunting that will take place on their property, providing information on the lots that will be hunted, the names of the guest hunters, and the time period during which the hunting will take place.
-
Hunting guests must carry a note from the property owner stating the date of the hunt, the property owner’s name, and the property owner’s phone number.
Notes:
Any member may ask an unknown hunter/shooter whether he/she is complying with the above regulations, and determine whether he/she is a guest of a member by obtaining:
-
The name of the hunter/shooter.
-
The lot number on which hunting/shooting should be taking place.
-
The name of the Association member for that lot, and verification that the member is present.
If the hunter/shooter has not complied with the regulations he/she should be informed about the regulations and the signs that are posted to that effect at Sun Ranch road entrances. If it is determined that he/she is not a member or guest, he/she should be asked to leave Sun Ranch premises.
All pertinent information regarding noncompliance of these regulations should be reported (preferably written) to the Sun Ranch Board, including the lot number in which the infraction took place if different from the lot number that was identified.
